about

This is an old song written around the same time as Beautiful Giant and Bachelor of Business Administration. It was on a Split with Insomniac Folklore when I played as the Gray Fox. I like to play it sometimes so I have re-recorded it and put it on this release. This song was also the first song that I even felt inclined to hit my guitar during.

lyrics

Pegasus
Standard Capo 4

Verse: C Em
Chorus: C F
Outro: Em

I don't want to hear your excuses anymore, I just want the truth from you
I want you to tell me what I already know, I want you to confirm my fears
I don't want you to avoid me anymore, Please don't ignore me
I just want you to talk to me

won't you be mature, about this situation
oh can't you be mature, about our situation
I used to be your number four, The perfect star in the night sky
I used to be your favorite

I'm gonna to tell you everything that you think you already know,
I'm gonna call you every morning even though you won't answer the phone
From now on when you see me, you won't look me in the eye, you won't even look at me
and I'll make an ever lasting impression on you, as the loud, obnoxious, perverted kid who
you met at a show
that you did not even want to go to

I'll give life and limb and all of my teeth, before I utter the words "I Quit"
I'll become so destructive and destroy everything, because everyday is exactly the same
And I'm sick and I'm tired of living, and I don't know what to do
I'm sick and I'm tired of living, in a world with out you here

Smiling up at me from the floor
You're so cute when you're blushing and flattered and torn
But still you look up at me with your eyes asking for more
I told you that I love you and I thought that I was sure

Flying around up in the sky, with your wings made of gold and halo so high
With hooves made of diamonds and teeth made of ivory
Won't you just take the rooster out of your mouth for just one moment
And realise there's a retarded frail young boy clinging to your neck
That you don't even notice 'cause he's as dumb a brick wall
Yet he's still cracking that whip and grasping your hips
And I know that you know that I know that you know that
You're on the right road to becoming a horse because
Tonight I'm gonna de-wing a pegasus
Tonight I'm gonna de-wing a pegasus
